I am pleased to announce that I will be teaching new in depth “boot camp” courses next week in two important trademark subject areas Sonia Lakhany. I strongly recommend the courses “live” for Q&A and more, but downloads will be available.
In these courses, I will be sharing some of my top tips acquired in more than 20 years in the field of trademarks – including as an Examiner at the USPTO – and mentoring dozens of law students and attorneys.
TTABulous: Trademark oppositions and cancellations are quite different from applications and office actions, even if they share much of the same body of law. The procedures and dockets and writing and rules are all different. If the very thought of a Notice of Opposition or Petition for Cancellation makes you nervous, this is the class for you. Whether you have never handled a TTAB case, or have handled a few but would like to learn the process in more depth, this course will deliver including, templates for pleadings, motions, and discovery. This 2.5-hour class is on Nov. 14 at 4pm EST. Click here for more information and a syllabus. If you can’t make it, be sure to still register as you will get the replay right after.
SEARCHacademy: As a former USPTO examiner, and in private practice for nearly 19 years, I have conducted tens of thousands of trademark searches using TESS and other tools. The course will cover when to search, where to search, and how to search. We will also discuss private search reports from vendors, as well as how to analyze search report results, and how to deliver results to the clients. This 3-hour class is on Nov. 16 at 4pm EST.
