Recently I was thinking about how some brands really make people happy. And what an idea emotion for a brand to trigger — if buying or using something makes think about being happy, we are likely to want want to do it again and to tell our friends. Of course, just about every product or service hopes to make its customers happy. But some brands really capture the “happy” emotion.
For example [click trademarks for link to USPTO records]:
- HAPPY MEAL
- New Kraft Foods logo features a subtle smile and a cheerful disposition
- AMAZON.COM logo has a subtle smile
- Cheerios
- SUNNY D
- SUNDANCE
- The newest version of the Pepsi logo is intended to include a smile
- Barack Obama’s campaigns in 2008 and 2012 have also used imagery of the sun and horizon to create a happy positive message
- YAHOO!
