I am a big fan of Google. I use many of its free services. But I continue to disagree with management of their trademark portfolio.
The page below (from http://www.google.com/intl/en/about/products/) shows many of the products and services available from Google. And it contains not a single trademark notice.
For example, some recent Google product launches in 2011 include:
The only one of these filed with the USPTO is Google+. And that was filed after the service was announced publicly.
Google is worth a lot of money. Infringement of its product or service names could cost is millions of dollars in lost revenue and/or legal fees. I therefore cannot understand why the company fails to file for registration of all its brand names, logos, slogans, etc. and why it rarely uses trademark symbols to provide notice to users.
